This gallery features the remarkable photography of Rev. William "Bill" Shouse, who served as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville from 1965 to 1995. Over those three decades, Bill dedicated himself to capturing the evolving face of the downtown area, meticulously documenting the town's architectural shifts. Whenever a building was remodeled, a historic structure came down, or a new storefront replaced an old one, his camera was there to record the transformation. Beyond the changing brick and mortar, his collection also beautifully preserves the vibrant spirit of the community by capturing numerous parades, festivals, and civic ceremonies. Together, his images from the 1960s through the 1990s offer an invaluable visual timeline of our town's growth and daily life.
